Wartburg forward Clay Cook has been drafted to play in the Prime Time Basketball League for the second straight summer.

The league features many of the University of Iowa’s men’s basketball players and is held in North Liberty.

Cook will play on the team sponsored by Jill Armstrong of Skogman Realty alongside Hawkeye starting point guard Mike Gesell.

The team is coached by Dan Ahrens.

There are six teams in the league, up from four last year, each with nine players.

Games are played on various Thursdays and Sundays in June and July. Each team will play six regular season games and participate in a single-elimination playoff at the end of the season.

Cook and his teammates open league play Thursday against Culver’s/McCurry’s, which features Iowa’s Aaron White, at 6:00.

All games are played at the North Liberty Community Center in either Jones or Roberts Gym.

Cook averaged 4.6 points and 4.3 rebounds off the bench for the Knights this season.
