Dubuque went up 3-0 in the 2nd inning of game two and never trailed on their way to an 8-4 victory.
The Knights cut the lead to 5-4 three-RBI triple in the 5th but were held scoreless in the remaining four innings.
The Knights return to the field Tuesday with a doubleheader at Luther (13-17, 9-13) Tuesday at 1 p.m.. They can clinch the IIAC title outright if they sweep the Norse and Coe (23-10, 17-5) is swept at Buena Vista (18-16, 10-12).
Wartburg can clinch a share of the conference championship by sweeping Luther and Coe splitting with BV or by splitting with the Norse and the Beavers sweeping the Kohawks.
