Wartburg lost a defensive battle Wednesday night, falling to Augustana College narrowly by a final score of 1-0.
The game was scoreless heading into halftime before the Vikings would take a second-half lead.
In the 77th minute, Taylor Navarro scored what would prove to be the lone goal of the game for either team, putting Augustana up 1-0.
Freshman Abby Zimmerman tallied the only shot on goal for the Knights a minute later, but was blocked by Viking goalkeeper Meredith Chew.
Wartburg returned key freshman Taylor Woods from injury, but Augustana still managed to hold the team advantage in shots, 14-12.
With the win, the Vikings improve to 9-2-3.
The Knights fall to 6-8-1 on the season and return to action this Saturday on the road against Dubuque.
