After finally getting on the right side of a 1-0 score with a win Wednesday against UW-Eau Claire, the women’s soccer team journeyed up to Carleton on Sunday to face off against the Knights.
The score was another 1-0 decision but Wartburg did not come out the victor this time.
Carleton scored the only goal of the game when Layne Teska’s corner kick in the 28th minute slipped off keeper Katie Reinhardt’s fingers and into the net.
Shorts were hard to come by as Wartburg held a slim 7-6 advantage. Each team had three shots on goal and Carleton committed 11 fouls to Wartburg’s four.
The Knights (3-5-1) will return to the pitch Saturday when they open Iowa Conference play at Coe (3-4-1). That game will kick off at 1 p.m.
